Born out of the vibrant college community that is Harrisonburg, Virginia, Strong Water is an energetic, dance-all-night, up and coming Folk/Americana band. Started in 2013 by Greg Brennan (Lead Vocal/Guitars) while he was attending James Madison University, Strong Water transitioned through several lineups before solidifying on a quartet of Greg and Harrisonburg, VA natives JJ Hostetter (Fiddle/Vocals) and Evan Hunsberger (Drums/Vocals) and Tim Cannon (Banjo/Guitars). Strong Water’s eclectic collection of originals range from Bluegrass and Blues, to their personal spin on the Americana and Folk-Rock genres, incorporating sounds and styles from influences such as Mumford and Sons, The Lone Bellow, and The Lumineers.
Since their first EP release “The Aftermath” in November 2014, and their self-titled debut album in April, 2016, Strong Water has traveled throughout the Mid-Atlantic while holding down full-time jobs. As of date, their accolades include performances at festivals such as Red Wing Roots Music Festival, Mainstage at Roanoke Festival in the Park, and Lynchstock Music Festival, and have shared the stage with bands such as Judah and the Lion, The SteelDrivers, Cris Jacobs, The Last Bison, Devon Gilfillian, Trongone Band, and Boy Named Banjo.
Following the release of their single, Bearfoot, in Oct. 2017 and almost a year of being off the road as the band underwent more personal transitions, Strong Water preps to release their second LP in September 2018.
