Racing
Ski racing at Bryce has been a tradition at Bryce since the late 1960's. In recent years competitive snowboard racing has also gained popularity. Children who grew up racing at Bryce have gone on to compete regionally, nationally and internationally. Our mountain may not be as high or as steep as others, but our coaches are very adept at teaching proper racing techniques - the same techniques which are used competitively across the world. Strength, balance, agility, focus and determination are all part of the process. Children and adults alike enjoy the exhileration, competition, and comraderie. Ski Race Training Clinics
Bryce Resort now boasts the largest ski team, with over 60 racers, in the Southern Region. Children may start Race Training Clinics as young as six years of age. They must be able to get on and off the chair lift, and they must be able to ski with poles. Our recreational Future Star program is mainly for children ages six to ten years and emphasizes development of sound skiing and NASTAR racing technique. Students will engage in drills which improve balance, develop edging technique and introduce the skier to speed.
The Ski Team program is tailored for more skilled and aggressive juniors, ages seven and older, who desire more extensive gate training and who want to travel to different ski resorts to compete in SARA slalom and giant slalom races. Each season, skiers are evaluated by the coaches and are placed in the race group most appropriate for their skiing ability. Not to worry if you are starting at an older age - adolescents often progress quickly, as their core muscle strength is more developed.

All clinic participants enjoy learning a new sport, challenging themselves physically and mentally, and developing camaraderie with new friends.
